Converting youtube videos to mp3 and downloading them - legal or illegal

Has anyone tried this before? 

Just trying to find out the legality of doing this. Konni websites unnayi where you can download a youtube video into an mp3 or mp4 format. Not sure if anyone has received notice from the internet provider, so wanted to check with you all. Suggestions pls.

i believe it is legal to download for personal use, malli reuse cheyakudadu upon other websites or so thats the only catch

oh okay just oka long drive ki eltunna weekend so konni podcasts download cheddamani. Don't like using bluetooth battery drain chesthadi fast ga anduke thinking of downloading them and playing via aux.
