Friend valla friend okadu Vue ani oka highrise condo undi charlett la, adi rent chesi daanni motham Airbnb lo rent settunnadani telisindi. Ante adi rent kanappudu he lives there but ball games(football season in fall and baseball season in spring and summer) season time lo game unnappudu he's renting the whole place for $200/night apparently. 

Ala thana rent $2000 and it seems he's making that amount easily per month. Anyway thing is he's on H1B, idi illegal kadaa ani adigithey he's saying he doesn't get another W2 only a 1099C form which is okay annadu. Plus he hires a Mexican lady and pays her $35 to clean the place after the guest checks out, so he's saying technically he's not putting any physical work towards service. 

Anyway what's the legality of this? Ide paniga oka condo koni ee dhandha nadipiddamani idea ochindi. Peddalu salahalu ivvagalaru, are there any legal implications to doing this?

renting out on airbnb does not make gains as active income anukunta. 

since your friend has hired maid for cleaning service, and not investing his own time,  its still considered as passive income and you can simply report it while tax filing.

janaalu cheppinattu chaala mandi who are on H1b doing this same thing.
