After Baahubali 2, Karan Johar to launch Prabhas in Bollywood?

Rumour mills are abuzz with the news that filmmaker Karan Johar is likely to launch Tollywood superstar Prabhas in Bollywood.

 

Remember the scene in Baahubali: The Beginning where Prabhas makes a stunning entry as Amarendra Baahubali? That scene itself is a testimony to the global star that he is today. Having spent four years for the Baahubali franchise, Prabhas has finally moved on with his next with Sujeeth Reddy.

While the project is likely to go on the floors after Baahubali 2, reports suggest that Prabhas is all set to foray into Bollywood, which will be bankrolled by Karan Johar. If the news is anything to go by, the project will be helmed by SS Rajamouli himself.

Speaking about the project, a source was quoted by DNA as saying, "Karan has been encouraging Rajamouli to do a Hindi film after Baahubali. They will team up to launch Prabhas in Bollywood."

 

It must be noted that Baahubali: The Beginning became the first dubbed Hindi film to gross Rs 100 crore at the box office. After the stupendous success of the film, Prabhas became hugely popular in the North too. However, we await an official confirmation.

Made on a lavish budget of Rs 250 crore, Baahubali is touted to have earned more than Rs 500 crore even before its release through its satellite and distribution rights.

Directed by SS Rajamouli, Baahubali 2 takes the story forward from where Baahubali: The Beginning ended. Also starring Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj, the film is slated to, release on April 28 this year.
