I have a doubt on merit.

Comparing two different worlds and two different societies..!

When America was 75 years old, It was much horrible country than India at 75. 

America is 240 years old...and it look a long way to become what it is now. 

It wouldn't take so long for India but by India @100, it would be lot better than what it is now.
