కట్టప్ప కోటకు కాపలాగా ఉంటాడు. భల్లాలదేవుని దండయాత్ర గురించి తెలిసి దేవసేన, బాహుబలి ఎదురువెళతారు. బాహుబలిని చూసి సైన్యం చీలిపోతుంది. భల్లాలదేవుడి దుష్ట అనుచరులు ఒకవేపు, బాహుబలిని అభిమానించే సైన్యం ఓ వేపు. ఈ విషయం రాజమాతకు వేగులు చేరవేయగా ఆమె తీవ్రంగా ఆగ్రహించి రక్తసంబంధం కన్నా రాజ్యమే గొప్పదనీ, బాహుబలిని బంధించి, లేదా అంతం చేసి ఈ యుద్ధానికి ముగింపు పలకాలనీ ఆజ్ఞాపిస్తుంది. కట్టప్ప భారమైన మనసుతో రాజమాత ఆదేశాలతో యుద్ధభూమికి వెళతాడు. అప్పటికే యుద్ధం తీవ్రంగా జరుగుతుంటుంది. భల్లాల దేవుడు ఓడిపోతుంటాడు. బాహుబలి భల్లాల దేవుడిని జయించే సమయంలో కట్టప్ప బాహుబలిని చంపేసి రాణి ఆజ్ఞ పాటిస్తాడు.

భల్లాల దేవుడి నుంచి తప్పించుకున్న దేవసేన రాజమాత వద్దకు న్యాయం కోసం బయలు దేరుతుంది. భల్లాలదేవుడు ఆమెను వెంటాడుతూ కోటకు చేరుకుంటాడు. దేవసేన తన బిడ్డను రాజమాతకు అప్పగించి జరిగినదంతా చెపుతుంది. రాజమాత పశ్చాత్తాప పడుతుంది.

ఆ బిడ్డను కూడా చంపితే శత్రుశేషం ఉండదని భల్లాల దేవుడు, అతడి తండ్రీ అనుకుంటారు. కానీ రాజమాత బిడ్డను తీసుకుని పారిపోతుంది. ఆమె విశ్వాసపాత్రులంతా అప్పటికే బాహుబలితో పాటు చావటమో, అడవిపాలు కావటమో జరిగింది. రాజమాతకే దిక్కులేని పరిస్థితి. ఆమెను వెంటాడుతూ భల్లాల దేవుని అనుచరులు కొండ కిందివరకూ వస్తారు. బాలుడితో సహా రాజమాత నదిలో పడి చనిపోయిందని భల్లాల దేవుడికి చెప్తారు.
