నిజామాబాద్‌, మే 3 (ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి ): మొన్నటిదాకా క్వింటా పసుపు పంటకు రూ.6,500 దాకా పలికిన ధర.. ఒక్కసారిగా రూ.3,880కు పడిపోయింది! ఏకంగా క్వింటాకు రూ.2,620 తగ్గడంతో ఆ వృద్ధ రైతు గుండె పగిలింది. ఆరుగాలం కష్టించి పండించిన పంటను మంచి ధరకు అమ్ముకుందామనే ఆశతో మార్కెట్‌కు వస్తే ఈ గోస ఏందిరా దేవుడా? అని తీవ్ర ఆందోళన చెందాడు. తనతో వచ్చిన వారితోనూ ఆ బాధను పంచుకున్నాడు. ఆ ఆందోళన మధ్యే తాను తెచ్చిన పసుపు కుప్పపై పడుకొని నిద్రలోనే ప్రాణాలు విడిచాడు. నిజామాబాద్‌ వ్యవసాయ మార్కెట్‌లో బుధవారం చోటుచేసుకుందీ విషాదం. జగిత్యాలజిల్లా ఇబ్రహీంపట్నం మండలం ఎద్దండ గ్రామానికి చెందిన దాసరి చిన్న గంగారాం(70) అనే రైతు.. తన కుమారునికి చెందిన పసుపు పంటను మంగళవారం నిజామాబాద్‌ మార్కెట్‌కు తీసుకొచ్చాడు.

 

మార్కెట్‌కు పసుపు పంట భారీగా పోటెత్తడంతో వ్యాపారులు ఒకేసారి రేటు తగ్గించారు. దీంతో చిన్న గంగారం తీవ్ర ఆవేదన చెందాడు. బాగా పొద్దుపోవడంతో బుధవారం కాంటా అయిన తర్వాత వెళ్దామని సహచర రైతులతో కలిసి మార్కెట్లోని కమిషన్‌ఏజెంటు కార్యాలయంలో పడుకున్నాడు. బుఽధవారం తెల్లవారుజామున మూడింటికి కాలకృత్యాల కోసం లేచిన ఆయన.. మార్కెట్‌లోని తన పసుపు వద్దకు వచ్చి దానిపైనే పడుకున్నాడు. ఆయనతో వచ్చినవారు ఉదయం 7గంటల ప్రాంతంలో టీ కోసం నిద్ర లేపేందుకు ప్రయత్నించగా.. అప్పటికే చనిపోయాడు. విషయం తెలిసి రైతులు ఆందోళనకు దిగారు. కమీషన ఏజెంట్ల షాపులను మూసివేయించారు. ఓ కమీషన ఏజెంట్‌ దుకాణం వద్ద ఫర్నిచర్‌ను విసిరివేశారు. ఈ ఘటనలో నర్సయ్య అనే హమాలీకి గాయమైంది. దీనికి నిరసనగా హమాలీలు కాంటాలను నిలిపివేశారు.

 

 

కాగా మార్కెట్‌ యార్డులో రైతు చనిపోయినా.. ఆ పరిసరాలకు మార్కెట్‌ కార్యదర్శితోపాటు ఏ అధికారికూడా రాలేదు. సమాచారం తెలిసిన పోలీసులు వెంటనే అప్రమత్తమయ్యారు. హుటాహుటిన మార్కెట్‌కు చేరుకొని మృతదేహాన్ని నగరంలోని ప్రభుత్వ ఆస్పత్రికి తరలించారు. అక్కడ పోస్టుమార్టం నిర్వహించిన అనంతరం మృతదేహాన్ని స్వస్థలం ఎద్దండకు తరలించారు. ఈ ఘటనపై మార్కెట్‌ కార్యదర్శి సంగయ్య వివరణ ఇస్తూ.. ఆందోళనలు చోటుచేసుకుంటాయనే భయంతోనే రైతు మృతదేహాన్ని సందర్శించలేదని తెలిపారు.

 

రైతు కుటుంబానికి 5 లక్షల ఎక్స్‌గ్రేషియా

నిజామాబాద్‌ వ్యవసాయ మార్కెట్‌లో మృతిచెందిన పసుపు రైతు దాసరి చిన్న గంగారాం కుటుంబానికి ప్రభుత్వం రూ.5 లక్షల ఎక్స్‌గ్రేషియా ప్రకటించింది. ఈ విషయంలో ఎంపీ కవిత ప్రత్యేకంగా చొరవ తీసుకున్నారు. రైతు మృతి ఘటనపై అధికారులను ఆరాతీశారు. మృతుడి కుటుంబానికి ఆమె ప్రగాఢ సానుభూతి తెలిపారు. ఈమేరకు మార్కెటింగ్‌ మంత్రి హరీశ్‌రావుతో చర్చించారు. దీంతో ప్రభుత్వం మృతుడి కుటుంబానికి ఎక్స్‌గ్రేషియాను ప్రకటించింది. కలెక్టర్‌, మార్కెటింగ్‌శాఖ అధికారులతోనూ చర్చించిన కవిత.. గంగారాం మృతదేహానికి పోస్టుమార్టం చేయించి, స్వగ్రామానికి తరలించే ఏర్పాట్లు చేశారు

This is what it happens when the government tries to create an artificial demand and supply for the produce. 

This is nothing new, the same things has happened to red chilli, last year it was cereals, before last year it was for cotton. 

As long as the government creates an artificial demand by announcing minimum support price for the agri produce, this problem will persists. 

The best solution is to remove the artificial pricing and create a market economy where everything will be traded as per demand and supply and farmers will also be cautious of the pricing and so will act grow the produce as per the demand and price in the local market.

Government is already subsidizing cold storages etc, they should also subsidize transport and purchase of cash crops and regular crops.
