Ap lo 6500 ki govt kontundi. Maku oka load vundi Cold storage lo but 2014 lo 6500 meda konnam. So waiting and paying rent to storage . All bokkababy_dc1

Thats because of pricing unstability and artificially created pricing for the supply.

It will never be corrected as long as govt intervenes in the commerce.

Again, this system is not somethign you can break. Its decades long practice and if someone breaks this practice, farmers are at the loss.

Middlemen are the ones who gurantee lot of things. from produce pick to market yard to end customers. Reality is, for a KG of rice, if the retail price is Rs.100, then the best case price farmer gets is 20 rs per KG. This is the profitable price for the farmer.

the 100 rs per KG price is fixed as per market demand. But if the govt comes in middle and fixes the wholesale price, it effects the retail price and in the end, farmer is the loser. Middlemen will still have thier profits. Even if there is reduction in the money margins, Middlemen has nothing to loose as they are not the producers.

farmer cannot sell you directly. Raw produce cannot be sold in its original shape. It has to be transported, it has to be stored, processed and then wholesaled and then retailed. Farmer cannot do these things and if he does, he is not a farmer but a businessmen. There is a difference in being a farmer and businessmen.

Market economy is dependent on free market pricing and as long as this doesn't happen, farmer will the sufferer producing bumper harvest of the crop which doesn't have worth or value.

Easy to blame middlemen, but without middlemen, farmer is the ultimate loser.

Living in self denial is never going to help us, just because the middle men market the goods it doesnt mean they have the privilege to rob both farmer and end user, it is not agreeable, the marketing system should be regulated, black market system should be raided from time to time to keep check on forces creating artificial demand by blocking flow of goods, there should be price fixture for products, instead of having brokers who buy goods from farmer and sell it to retail sellers, there should be a system where middle men is allowed only to market goods and claim portion of the earnings as his commission after deducting the marketing and transport cost. Farmer cooperative societies should be strengthened and collective marketing system should be encouraged so that farmers are well grouped and they then become driving forces of this system. Simply saying that the middle men are there to help farmers is not correct. When the marketing system earns ten folds money than the producer then we should see something wrong in this system.
