If an employer can take on TN1 without transfering visa, re-starting the GC to extend the H1B and all that it's way better than H1B ani antunna. Quote

Do you face a rejection from companies and employers that typically don't sponsor visa holders? let us know your experiences. Canadian citizens who want to work in US are who are eligible to work here under TN1 visa. I have a Bangladeshi colleague who is a Canadian Citizen working on TN visa. He is from Winnipeg and his family still lives there. As per him, no sponsorship is required and he just took the offer letter to the border, received TN visa on his passport, and then started working. He didnt required any kind of documentation from the company except offer letter. Quote

Do you face a rejection from companies and employers that typically don't sponsor visa holders? let us know your experiences. Canadian citizens who want to work in US are who are eligible to work here under TN1 visa. Step 1.: Find a Job* in USA (Just tell that you are authorized to work in Canada,if the employers asks..other wise no need to mention that You are a Canadian Citizen) Step 2: Secure a Job and receive offer letter Step 3: Go to US border Step 4: At border tell CBP officer that you want to apply for TN visa.He will take your passport and tell you to park your vehicle and proceed into the immigration office Step 5.:Inside the office ,the officer receives your passports and calls you for brief interview (5 to 10 mins),checks your documents and stamps your passport Step 6: Done. You will be holding a TN visa ,valid for 2 yrs (Extendable for ever, till you have job) Step 7:Go to SSA office and apply for SSN Step 8: Report at your new Job/employer *Job:Not all jobs are eligible under TN visa category.Only Professions which fall under NAFTA . **Trump administration has already initiated scrapping of NAFTA and may go for fresh bi-lateral trade agreements with Canada and Mexico separately..in place of the trilateral agreement (NAFTA) which is common for all three countries. If NAFTA is scrapped TN visas will be automatically deemed as invalid and null FYI: I have used TN for 3 months and later converted to another visa Quote
