you need to have transit visa or a US citizen for Longer layovers. Naku okasari Connecting flight catch cheyalenu london lo due to flight delay in newyork I was not issued boarding pass and I couldn't fly. I had to rebook ticket next day via dubai

from any where on earth and travelling back to your home country , all that you need is a valid passport...not visas or anything else...

you only need VISAS  to travel to a country other than your home country. 

EU countries lo allow cheyaru, except through Germany (Lufthansa via Frankfurt).

British via London for sure cheyaru with expired US visa. origin lo checking not allowed

No valid visa stamp is needed for amsterdam... I just came to india a few weeks ago via amsterdam... same situation as yours... came for stamping....
