one of my frnds wedding is happening in Usa , my family is coming Usa next month can I ask them to get gold ornaments along with them ?? How much can they bring ? Is there any limit ?

Entaina tesukoni ravachu vachedappudu US ki no problem no one cares. Last year parents got for cousins marriage..3 ppl gold brought but were scared to take it back to india...20 days back nene tesukellanu motham to hyd. Luckily paisalu dobbaledu naku. Easy gane customs ayipoyindi though i was prepared to pay some amount. Carry gold ornaments bills..thats what i did. Argue saying bought in india taking to India why should i pay ani...inka OA cheste passport mida rasukomani cheppu but dont pay. Actually mana ornaments ki manam pay cheyakkarledu but customs corruption valla sometimes they ask. Intlo pay chesina vallu unnaru in past but i didn't pay this time.

Antha ledu ma intlone paid for getting own gold . Passport Lo Rasiko will take back to states anna 7k Dobbaru customs vallu .  However it depends on how much we are bringing too .

Just want to clarify few things here. I know someone working in customs and also from my experience.

-Yes having bill for the gold items you are carrying is important. 

- But not everyone is aware that, you have to declare these gold items you are taking to US with our Indian Customs before leaving that these are items you are carrying and will bring them back.

- In all international airports in India, if you observe carefully you can find the notice boards about declaration.

- About writing in passport- Unless you are foreign national - they can still charge you with duty. Their decision is final. I don't recommend arguing with a customs officer about writing in passport - you are just inviting trouble.
