What is your view on the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire AT?

It's just my opinion as I never owned Dzire.

- Suzuki Desire has AMT in both diesel and petrol variants( which is rare for a lot of models to have it in both diesel/ petrol). Safety features standard on all variants. Personally I don't like the design of dzire( I ended up buying brio though I didn't like the design- so definitely design not my first priority), but apart from that I don't think there is anything to complain. Best family sedan in the price range in my opinion. If sedan is your need then you will be happy with dzire.

Cars considered

- Hyundai Grand i10/ i20- no  safety features  on AT models.

- Maruti Vitara Brezza( My first choice but No AT), Baleno ( it has all the criteria) - good but little expensive.

- Honda Brio ( Bought in 2014) AT/ fully loaded with safety features. Excellent drive. Decent service. Only thing I didn't like is it's shape/ external appearance.

- Honda Jazz - my second choice after Vitara Brezza.  Little expensive. Nothing else to complain - very spacious of all hatchbacks

- Ford Figo ( bought 2017) cost per value. It's 1.5litre engine all the other hatchbacks except i20(1.4l) are 1.2 liter. Good power. Fully loaded with safety ( 6 airbags), ABS, even the AT is DCT( dual clutch one. Only VW polo has that on that segment and it's > 10lacs). Service cost is comparable to Hyundai and Maruthi recently as they claim( too early for me to say). In one YouTube video review it tips for handling of all the hatchbacks

- Nissan Micra - it's a 3 cylinder engine. Looks good on paper for all other features.

- VW Polo GT: if money is not a problem, that's the best. > 10lacs.

1. Maruthi Vitara Brezza ( Petrol/ Diesel AMT will be released sometime this year)

2. Honda Jazz

3. Maruthi Baleno

4. Ford Figo

5. VW Polo

 

There are different types of AT 

- AMT (Maruthi/ Tata/ Renault)

- CVT ( Honda)

- AT ( Hyundai)

- DCT (Ford/ VW)

DCT - best for no lag 

AMT - Cheaper version of AT
