Yes but you need to gain 40 credits to be eligible.

its based of 40 credits each year after working few months(some dollar amount contribution to ssn fund) they will ad 4 credits i beleive.

After 40 credits u will not accrue more credits u will be eligible for benefits but u have to have GC or Citizenship i think to claim benefits..

ssa.gov is the website to check statements and credits reached ssn contribution year wise all info u will get it.

Bro clear ga cheptha vinu.

Nenu anna amount naaku eppudu ostundi ante if I keep contributing the same amount I am doing right now till the time I reach 62. Oka vela nenu madhyalo let's say 40 years ki US odilesi India ellipothey antha amount raadu, they calculate it proportionate to  your contribution at that time.

So yeah if I live here till I am 62 and end up retiring with $2700 per month(btw idi per month annual kaadu) then yes you are right I can go retire in India then.

But then the thing is, we don't know how inflation is going to affect India. We already know that the cost of living has doubled in the last 10 years. So ippudu 1 lakh per month 30 years from now is going to be 10,000 rupees per month. But things are going to be more expensive too. So ochedi peanuts basically.

the amount you can draw monthly completely depends on how much did you contribute for how long
