This is a big myth. Hindi is one of the 18 official languages. India DOES NOT have a national language....

 it was probably wrongly advertised.

the entire idea of the concert was to celebrate his cinematic journey, and the title was in Tamil. but it was wrongly promoted by the organizers.

I do feel bad for them.
