even if one takes what you said on face value that majority of people fight only for the things said above, it still doesn't bear in reality. In reality majority of people are poor fighting hard to get by. fighting the powers that be, to just let them lead their life.

okay, now lets assume that you don't care for that loser majority, and want to only talk about the shiny people you interact and compete with everyday (for women and money), the prize (women, money) is still not the end game.

people aspire to more than that. landing the prettiest girl in the world is not going to make your life easier by default, she'll always have suitors better than you competing for her. Having a billion dollars is not going to make you secure. It can always be stolen by someone smarter than you are.

I agree that the basis of human life is competition for resources, but there is another angle to it. cooperation.
