absolutely stunning movie, Dunkirk.

Thanks for portraying drafted men in war zones as selfish, worried only about saving themselves at all costs.

Thanks for not making a big deal of sacrifice regular people made in rescuing these 'soldiers'.

Nolans traditional weakness in storytelling is this movie's biggest strength. His 3 timelines gimmick too fails to have a nemotional payoff. I love it when war movies are made this flat, and with a matter of fact attitude, that war sucks, and people in it suck too.

Hope he keeps making big budget movies like this to wash off the sh1t that spielberg shoved down the throats of a generation of Hollywood watchers with Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers.

This is more like The Thin Red Line, made in a super heavy budget for blockbuster audience. Nolan is a gutsy guy and he employs the same subversive tactic he did with Dark Knight against Liberals, but this time its against breast beating nationalists.

I'm slightly worried that this movie will flop, and Nolan won't get a chance again to show a mirror to nationalists and warmongers.
