It is scripted. but not in the way you have listed above. the contestants are nudged to engage in so and so activities. but the group forming, clashing with each other is there own decisions. If its not scripted, its impossible to create a storyline that makes sense (in a linear way) by the producer. Quote

The closer we get to the end, the lesser the people on the show. the more boring it will be, because what will 2 people fight about for the 16hrs hours that they are awake? Quote
