Reel Buzz: Rs 47 crore 'Paisa Vasool'

Times have changed and so have the budget equations in the film industry. Almost all big films are being made with a budget of Rs 50 crore or more.

Right now, there are three films that are in the race for Dassera, of which two have crossed the Rs 50 crore mark.

The third film in the race is Puri Jagannadh's film with Balayya. Titled Paisa Vasool, the film has already crossed the Rs 46 crore mark.

This is a new from Puri as he usually makes films on a tight budget. Also, Balayya's films are wrapped up around Rs 40 crores. But changing technology, audiences' tastes and prolonged shooting at foreign locations has shot up budgets and Paisa Vasool is no exception.

The unit insiders say the cost is minus the interest on investment.

However, the makers have already made a cool Rs 8 after selling the film along satellite rights. Now, other language rights, digital rights and theatre rights included, Paisa Vasool has already turned out to be a profitable venture.

The producers have decided to open sales after releasing the teaser. The muhurtam has been set for 10.10 am on July 28. The film's audio will be released in the second week of August.
