కళ కళ కోసమే కాదు, ప్రజలకోసమని నమ్మి త్రికరణ శుద్ధిగా పాటించారు నందమూరి తారక రాముడు. 1965 నాటి ఇండో పాక్ యుద్ధ సమయంలో జాతీయ రక్షణ నిధి కోసం ఎన్టీఆర్ చేపట్టిన జైత్రయాత్ర ఇందుకు నిదర్శనం. అప్పటికే సినీ రంగంలోని కళాకారులంతా తమకు తోచినంత విరాళాలను ఇవ్వడం జరిగింది. అయినప్పటికీ జైత్రయాత్ర నిర్వహించారు ఎన్టీఆర్. ఈ సందర్భంగా ప్రసంగించిన ఎన్టీఆర్ ''ఇది కేవలం రక్షణ నిధికి ధన సమర్పణ కార్యక్రమమే కాదు... ప్రజల మధ్యకు వెళ్ళి, ప్రబోధించి , ప్రజా వాహినిని చైతన్యవంతం చేయటం, ఉత్తేజితులను చేయటం నా ఆశయం. అందుకనే నేను మూడు వారాల ఈ జైత్ర యాత్రను సాగిస్తున్నాను. నా సోదర కళాకారులు, నిర్మాతలు, మిత్రులు, శ్రేయోభిలాషులు, టెక్నీషియన్లూ అందరూ నాకు సహాయ సహకారాలందిస్తారనే నా నమ్మకం.'' అన్నారు. 
ఈ జైత్రయాత్ర సాగినన్నాళ్ళూ రాత్రిళ్ళు 2 గంటల వరకు సినీ కళాకారులంతా వివిధ ప్రదర్శనలు ఇచ్చేవారు. తిరిగి ఉదయమే 5 గంటలకు లేచి వేరే ఊరికి ప్రయాణమయ్యేవారు. ప్రదర్శన పూర్తికాగానే ఎన్టీఆర్ జనంలోకి వెళ్ళి జోలె పట్టేవారు. ఒకరోజు ఈ జైత్రయాత్రలో ఎన్టీఆర్ కు వేసిన పూలమాల 1600 రూపాయలకు వేలం వేయబడింది. నాటి జైత్రయాత్రలో ఒకనాడు ప్రముఖ బుర్రకథ కళాకారుడు నాజర్ తో కలిసి ఎన్టీఆర్ ప్రదర్శన ఇస్తున్నప్పటి ఫోటో ఇది.
