Alien/God anything refers to not Human! So simple thing is they were extremely superior in technology when we were naive and they gave us KT and now we are .progressing.

 

or May be we were a Progressing race that was destructed with climate changes and now are recouping to again gain the knowledge with the limited saved rss we have and re developing again.

third and my favorite is that we are a cluster of a body so huge  like we are living as a planet which may be a proton or electron or neutron as an atom. the more we get insight into looking into the minute particle around us, we can apply the same theory at the bigger magnitude.
