I asked the same question yesterday what AMC is asking in this article.

How in the world MoviePass makes profit by selling for 9.95$? On Avg, a ticket costs 10$ for a movie and any subscriber going for more than 1 movie in a month is going to be liability. 

What is the value it creates with the analytics it collects that can make up for the above loss. It is going to be disaster.
