My Uncle recently went to over see this kaleswaram project. They said it's one of a kind project in India.

it helps a lot for farmers and things seems to be going good as of now, but the main drawback with it is maintainance costs are way too High as it's a lift irrigation project. And it might effect govt budget in a long run.
