He turned youth icon with films like Toli Prema, Tammudu and Khushi. Pawan's earlier films used to target the young audience. He achieved cult status among the nineties youth which has laid the foundation for his superstardom that he is enjoying now. Not many actors were able to achieve such massive following among the youth. In fact none of the actors before or after him really enjoyed such cult following among the youngsters. Looks like Vijay Devarakonda is moving in that direction as teenagers and college goers are going gaga over him. Vijay is doing relatable characters like Pawan used to do in his younger days. Pelli Chupulu earned recognition for Vijay and Arjun Reddy has made him a star. If Vijay continues to pick stories that youth can identify themselves in, then he could be the one to take Power star’s place in the coming days. Quote

Ippudu they are watching even korean movies too and game of thrones... so I would say people will watch movies based on the content rather than the main actor of the movie... JMO... Quote
