Puri Jagannadh’s 'Paisa Vasool' starring Balakrishna as lead hero is set to hit the screens this Friday. It is gaining momentum at the ticket window with impressive numbers in the form of online bookings in Hyderabad multiplexes. And now comes a hot update.

Strong buzz in the industry is that the characterization of Nandamuri Balakrishna is similar to that of Mahesh Babu in “Pokiri”.

The trailer of “Paisa Vasool” had suggested that Balayya is playing a rough rowdy called Theda Singh. In “Pokiri” too, Mahesh Babu did the same, but his real character was revealed towards the climax.

Inside sources say “Paisa Vasool” also has a similar twist to Balayya’s character. If that is the case, Puri has gone back to his hit formula for his latest. Other than the twist, both films will be different in tone and treatment, say the sources.

Balakrishna’s acting is said to be outright mass with lots of punch dialogues. The punchlines come off like bullets from a gun, confide team members. The trailer was a laugh-fest for Balayya's fans. It remains to be seen what Puri will pack in the film.
