Prince_Fan Posted September 22, 2017 Report Posted September 22, 2017 Fans and PR team of NTR were over-active on social media yesterday claiming that "Jai Lava Kusa" has created a record on the first day in terms of overall collections. They proclaimed that the film made record collections following Baahubali 2. But the verdict is out now -- the film has failed to set any new record. Despite all the hype and being released in large number of screens, NTR's triple act hasn't been able to topple the record set by megastar Chiranjeevi with "Khaidi No 150". Chiranjeevi's comeback film made Rs 23.5 crore in Telugu states on the first day. The world-wide first day collections were about Rs 35 crore for the film. On the other hand, "Jai Lava Kusa" minted nearly Rs 21 crore in Telugu states. Even in the US, the movie made $735k on Day 1 (Thursday premiere + premiere) which is much lower than Mahesh Babu's Brahmotsavam's Day 1 collection in the US. In all, "Jai Lava Kusa" hasn't toppled any records. All talk of non-Baahubali2 record is just hogwash. 1 Quote
