Why is one leader after the other deserting the Praja Rajyam Party these days?

Well, ask PRP senior leader T Devender Goud; he has the answer.

According to Goud, if the party does not have proper ideology or clarity of thought on various issues and a well-defined policy, it is bound to create a sort of confusion in its leaders, who will be looking towards defecting to other parties. “See, Communist parties have a clear ideology. You won’t find many defections from them into conventional parties,” he pointed out.

Goud admitted that the PRP does not have an ideological strength (saiddhantika balam) and hence the desertions. “After the Greater Hyderabad elections, we will focus on giving training to party rank and file on the party ideology and strengthen the cadre base,” he said.

Apparently, Goud is said to be unhappy with the goings on in PRP. If party president Chiranjeevi does not take an active role, Goud might consider the option of going back to the TDP.
