Andhra Pradesh: ACB raids premises of govt officials, unearths assets worth crores

Several valuable documents and gold were unearthed from their possession during the raids.

The Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday, conducted raids on the premises of two government officials and unearthed huge disproportionate assets from them.

The sleuths raided the houses of Andhra Pradesh Town & Country Planning officers, NV Siva Prasad and G. Venkata Raghu, in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, and their relatives' premises in several other places across the state.

Several valuable documents and gold were unearthed from their possession during the raids.

The slueths raided 15 premises of Raghu including, his house at Mangalagiri, Vijayawada, Shirdi (Maharashtra), Nellore, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam. Whereas, 8 properties of Siva Prasad are being raided in Vijayawada.

 

Speaking to India Today a top ACB officer said, "This should be a big catch as both cases are related to each other. Cash worth Rs 50 lakhs, gold and diamond jewellery of about 8 kgs worth Rs. 5 to 6 crore and several documents related to properties and companies were found during the raids."

ACB officials also unearthed Rs 43 lakh cash, 8 kgs Gold and Diamond jewellery , 23 kgs Silver apart from over 30 immovable property (plots, lands, flats, buildings, apartments) from municipal officer NVS Prasad.

So far, gold jewellery worth 4 lakh, silver items worth Rs 5 lakhs, and Rs 9.90 lakh cash has been recovered from Raghu's premises.

The anti-corruption bureau believes that both the officers are related to each other and have accumulated disproportionate assets worth over 250-300 crores.
