off late it has been misused by many.. and now there are 30,000+ applications waiting to be cleared..

All immigration visas are getting tougher by day..US is no more a dream land of opportunities,.. Fcked up immigration system..

Everything is fcuked up now here. The immigration system esp for legal immigrants is major time fcuked up. Plus the rising visa fees every year, most jobs not choosing people on visas, FT jobs not sponsoring GC even if they hire, it's not worth living here anymore. The increasing number of public attacks, the anti immigrant and nativity movement at it's peak.

I heard of one case of misuse from a friend of mine. They own a gas station, one of their employees apparently came here illegally via Mexico. He's from Punjab. He happened to hurt himself, lodged a police report, fabricated some evidence and today he got approved for a U visa. He's in a better position than most of the H1B immigrants who have studied here and got their degrees, he might even get preference over them for future job interviews if he manages to get it converted to a GC which he would be eligible for in 3 years. 

H1Bs on the other hand, will continue to remain on H1B after 3 years from now.
