It is not! tejo mahalaya is a false claim! Since there are no builders post the building as they were executed by Shah Jahan post its creation as he doesn't want it to be repeated( This trend was started by Babur himself). References that indicate  Shiva temple as true to an extent as it was more frequently found in Hindu construction but never before in  Mughal construction before. How so ever, It was more of a Fusion as Shah Jahan was adherent lover of constructions of Hindu and often admired them.

 

1) Lotus is not used in Muslim contructions: False , Lotus are widely used in islamic constructions. It had been a tradition in construction from Mesopotamian days as they consider Lilith(lotus) as a goddess  and also the first wife of Adam. Christianity and islam are opposite edges of the same sword. Hindus also consider lotus as sacred but most people miss this point that it is used in Islamic art too.

 

2) Kalash on the top:  Unfortunately we refer the tip of the main dome as a kalash, but it is more crescent and  Kalash. Fusion of Islamic and Hindu art.

 

3) Dathura Flower: Yes it is one very fond for Lord Shiva, but Emperor also had love with the flower and so did mumtaz. will continue posting references in a bit
