Hyderabad: Woman gangraped by three men who offered her, her friend a lift

A 33-year-old woman alleged she was gangraped by three men who offered to drive her and a friend of hers to Hayathnagar, a suburb of Hyderabad.

Police were gathering CCTV footage on Monday to identify the accused, who stole Rs 2,000 and a mobile phone from the victim. Meanwhile, she was sent for a medical examination.

She and her friend were waiting for a bus near the Saibaba temple in Saroornagar when the accused offered them a lift. The men started misbehaving with the women as soon as they entered the car.

The victim's friend jumped out of the car, sensing their motive.

The accused allegedly gangraped the victim, and left her at a deserted location near Outer Ring Road.

A case was registered, and an investigation is under way.
