Agreed. Victims family might not need that money in some cases. friends/family start this without victims family knowledge. And keep increasing by seeing the response without even knowing if funds are actually needed. free gaa money vasthunte evadu matram vaddu antaadu. 

There are Medical insurance , Life Insurance to take care of these expenses in majority cases.

I can't judge the people who are donating and whoever asked, but one reason I can see is lack of user-friendly system for people to donate to those kind of orphanages. With gofund, all it takes is 2 min to donate. If any of those orphanages have similar system and high visibility, people would donate.
