kotha matham kaadhu. its just reconstructed religion that is imagined to have existed that gave birth to vedic, greek roman religions, since all these religions share a lot of mythology.

I now have to learn about cool stories from other religions to steal from to form a good mythological base I can talk about to kids.

I've picked up Edwin Bryant's Origins of Vedic culture, and then will move on to Norse and Roman culture too.
