There's something called Nexus card, if you have that and if you have a valid H1B visa you can use that to commute daily from across the border.

Off late they refused entry few nurses and radiologists who used work in beamount hospital.. Even one guy punjabi works in our office who commute everyday and living in Canada for long time mentioned it's not smooth at border these days.. It's very rough..
