8 is fairly easy to score but you have to be focused. As long as you are focused and know the basic English grammar(elementary level proficiency) you can score an 8.0 in IELTS. 

I have taken IELTS myself and scored an 8.5 with barely any preparation, so I am speaking from experience.

I went to a very average school bro, below average ani cheppachu when it comes to academics. It had very good sports teams and extra curricular activities though.

You can definitely put in more preparation and improve though. 

I would suggest buying the Barron's and Kaplan IELTS guides and doing them end to end 2-3 times. 

Plus there are websites where you can take multiple IELTS mock tests for a small fee, I would say a 2 month thorough preparation should put you close enough to the 7.5 range if not an 8.0.

i got 7.5 about 1 month prep after office is enough.

I put in the effort to improve. I had a habit of reading since my earliest days so that partly helped esp with the flow of language when it comes to writing etc. Also worked as a Teaching Assistant during my Master's here so that helped with the accent/pronunciation of the English language after I moved to the US.
