Stem Extension for PHD after Masters

Hello DB Members,

My brother is in a situation where his H1B not picked in the lottery , He has already completed his ( OPT and OPT Extn ) , He is in science field , Graduated from LSU.

Now he got admit for Phd from the same professor where he did thesis for Masters , My brother was saying that he will get OPT again after PHD is that TRUE.

As far as i know OPT and Extension will be given one time , But he says if you do a Higher Degree after Masters we will get again.

He already sent email to DSO , They are yet to respond.

Did any one face this situation ? If so please let me know your views.

science field antunav it is better to do PHD in europe than US stipend is about 70k Euros there compared to about 20k here. After that again same fight for H1 etc. Na MS lo roommate okadu chemistry PHD chesevadu. Ikkada adviser nachaka Switzerland poyadu. Happily enjoying there

Stem extension only once in life. Masters lo use chesukunte stem extension malla raadu.

but yeah opt ostundii but one year though .

phd antunnav is your brother sure abt it ??

Europe u never know ankul, my frnds funding was cut abruptly and he had to move back.

DHS grants STEM OPT extensions to eligible F-1 students who are currently in a period of post-completion OPT once per degree level (i.e., bachelor's, master's or doctorate). A student may participate twice in the STEM OPT extension over the course of their academic career.

Idi wrong notion ankul. EB1 ante employment based and eb1 lo employer gadu has to do some documentation. Just doing a phd doesn't make it easy to get a GC a lot of effort needs to be put into it. NIW kinda emanna cheste better chances. Edanna cutting edge research cheste kaani workout avvadu
