You need to transfer funds into exchanges first, then you buy any crypto, it will be available immediately.

Coinbase is not exchange. gdax/binance/bittrix... are exchanges.

trying to learn things of transfering amount to Coinbase to different exchanges...because planning to buy couple of alts....youtube lo chusi firstly tried transfering $50 worth BTC from Coinbase to Binance.... total ga coinbase vadu $79 10engadu....$49.78 transfer ki $28.39 fees 10engi vadiladu....mari intha too much vuntadha fees..... konchem suggest how to transfer btc from coinbase with less fees to exchances like binance/bitterx etc., etc., exchanges.........
