Anyone faced this issue? How to fix it ourselves, any pointers? Just out of warranty so that option is gone.

If you haven't tried already......

Perform a "hard power cycle" by holding down the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the Xbox button on the console again to restart it. Try your disc again. Wait a few seconds to see if the console recognizes it.

I am not very sure, but I thought they did away with backward compatibility now

yellowyellow_shittyfellowxbox one s is just the upgraded version of xbox one, adhemi kotha console kaadu like xbox 360 and xbox one.........it supports all the xbox one games which are released and which are going to be released in future
