భారతీయులు - ముఖ్యంగా హిందువుల మనోభావాలకు సంబంధించిన కీలక వార్త తెరమీదకు వచ్చింది. పురాణాల్లో ఉన్నత స్థానంలో ఉన్న రామాయణంలోని కీలక ఘట్టంపై ప్రచారంలో ఉన్న అంశం నిజమైనదేనని తేలింది. సాక్షాత్తు అమెరికన్  సైన్స్ చానల్ ఈ విషయాన్ని ప్రకటించింది. ఇదంతా భారత్-శ్రీలంకలను కలుపుతూ...రామాయణ కాలంలో వారధి నిర్మించారని జరుగుతున్న వాదన గురించి. ఈ అంశంపై ఎందరో విబేధించే వారున్నప్పటికీ...తాజాగా తాము పరిశోధించి మరీ చెప్తున్నామని అమెరికా సైన్స్ ఛానల్ వెల్లడించడం గమనార్హం.

పురాణాల విషయంలో ముఖ్యంగా రామాయణం విషయంలో ఎన్నో భిన్నాభిప్రాయాలు ఉన్న సంగతి తెలిసిందే. ప్రధానంగా రామాయణం పుక్కిట పురాణం అంటూ పలువురు బహిరంగంగానే విమర్శిస్తుంటారు. అయితే  డిస్కవరీ కమ్యూనికేషన్ కు చెందిన సైన్స్ ఛానల్ సంచలన విషయాన్ని బయటపెట్టింది. రామాయణం నిజంగానే జరిగిందని - రామసేతు మానవ నిర్మిత కట్టడమేనని తేల్చిచెప్పింది. ఈ మేరకు ప్రత్యేకంగా రూపొందించిన సవివర కథనాన్ని ప్రసారం చేసింది. 

తమిళనాడులోని ఆగ్నేయ ప్రాంతంలోనున్న రామేశ్వరం నుంచి... శ్రీలంకలోని వాయువ్య ప్రాంతంలోని మన్నార్ ప్రాంతం వరకూ ఈ వారధిని నిర్మించారని అమెరికా సైన్స్ చానల్ తన కథనంలో పేర్కొంది. పూర్తిగా సున్నపురాయి (లైమ్ స్టోన్)తో నిర్మించిన ఈ వారధిలో ఉపయోగించిన రాళ్లు.. నీటి మీద తేలుతూ.. ఇసుక శక్తితో ధృఢంగా నిలిచాయని వెల్లడించింది. భారత్-శ్రీలంక మధ్యనున్న అంతర్జాతీయ జలాల్లో ఉన్న రామసేతు వారధి విషయంలో వాస్తవాలు వెలికి తీసేందుకు దాదాపు 30 మైళ్ల దూరం‍ వరకూ సైంటిస్టులు పరిశోధనలు చేయడం విశేషం. సైన్స్ చానల్ కోసం చేసిన ఈ పరిశోధనలో వారధి నిజమని తేలడం గమనార్హం.

హిందూ మత విశ్వాసాల పరంగా బలమైన భావనలతో మాత్రమే చర్చల్లో ఉన్న రామసేతు తాజాగా అమెరికా సైన్స్ చానల్ పరిశోధనతో సైన్స్ ద్వారా కూడా నిరూపితం అవడంతో ఆధ్యాత్మిక వాదుల్లో సంతోషం వెల్లివిరుస్తోంది. ఇకనైనా విమర్శలు మానుకోవాలని పలువురు అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు.

• The field geographical observations and drilling data confirmed that there were no indications or evidences of man made structures on the present day seabed or on the subsurface level between Dhanushkodi tip and the Adam's bridge islands within the exclusive economic zone limits of India.
