Batman_fan Posted December 15, 2017 Report Posted December 15, 2017 ne vuchitha salahalu apu.. correct way is - the person need to be employed for all the time in OPT (except for first 12 months if they volunteer in non-profit org etc.,). Job vunodu edaina correct ganey chestadu. Most of our people are jobless in OPT and they just stay with a Mestri for few months until they become serious about job. No one would run payroll for these guys when no job while in OPT. How do you correct the problem for these guys? Quote

BrotherBairagi Posted December 15, 2017 Report Posted December 15, 2017 guys OPT rule says that you cannot be unemployed/unpaid (unless its non-profit) for more than any 90 days whether it be continuous or intermittent while maintaining OPT status. It is applicable for first year and extensions... per USCIS. Maa college la DSO officer particular ga maa status ni update cheymani force chesevallu if there is a change in employment because they put all that info into SEVIS. this is overlooked by most people and USCIS while adjudicating H1b succeeding the OPT but it can be grounds for dismissal and cancellation of OPT as well source: https://www.uscis.gov/ilink/docView/SLB/HTML/SLB/0-0-0-1/0-0-0-11261/0-0-0-17197/0-0-0-17800.html search for 90 Quote
