tennisluvr Posted December 26, 2017 Report Posted December 26, 2017 You have to be very dedicated man, almost like learning a new language. Plus change your base voice if needed, certain languages are more airy and require you to speak in a higher pitch. English requires a much lower pitch for the right enunciation. Depending on where you live, you can take up some classes with an accent coach. Can be done, but you have to give yourself the time and patience to practice the new accent plus take lessons for feedback till you master it. Quote

Tyrannosauraus_Rex Posted December 27, 2017 Report Posted December 27, 2017 There is nothing like a pan "American" accent - different states/regions have different accents. Also it varies depending on the groups of people who speak it - for example African Americans have a distinct accent so on and on... I think the emphasis should be more on "clarity" and "pronunciation" than accent itself - and that comes with practise. With Indians more often than not it has to do with our speed and pronunciation.
