వాషింగ్టన్‌ : అమెరికా అధ్యక్షుడు ట్రంప్‌ తీసుకువస్తున్న ప్రతిపాదిత హెచ్‌1-బీ వీసా నిబంధనల సవరణ బిల్లుపై భారతీయుల నుంచి సర్వత్రా ఆందోళనలు వ్యక్తమవుతున్నాయి. ఈ బిల్లు అమల్లోకి వస్తే 5 లక్షల మంది భారతీయ నిపుణులు ఇంటి ముఖం పట్టాల్సిరావొచ్చని అంచనా వేస్తున్నారు. అమెరికాలో శాశ్వత నివాసం కోసం గ్రీన్‌కార్డ్‌ పొందేందుకు ఎదురుచూసేవారికి ఇక మీదట పొడగింపు ఇవ్వకూడదని ట్రంప్‌ అడ్మినిస్ట్రేషన్‌ ప్రతిపాదించింది.

2016లో అమెరికా అధ్యక్ష ఎన్నికల్లో ట్రంప్‌ ఇచ్చిన హామీ మేరకు హెచ్‌1-బీ వీసా పొడగింపు ఇవ్వకూడదని.. అందుకు కొత్త నిబంధనలు తీసుకురావాలని డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌ ఆఫ్‌ హోమ్‌లాండ్‌ సెక్యూరిటీస్‌ పేర్కొంటోంది.

ప్రస్తుత చట్టం ప్రకారం విదేశీ ఉద్యోగులు హచ్‌1-బీ వీసా పొందితే మూడేళ్ల కాలపరిమితితోపాటు మరో మూడేళ్ల పొడగింపు లభిస్తుంది. మొత్తం ఈ ఆరేళ్ల కాలంలో వారికి సంబంధించిన గ్రీన్‌కార్డ్‌ అప్లికేషన్‌ పెండింగ్‌లో ఉంటే.. అది పూర్తయ్యేవరకూ పొడగింపు లభిస్తుంది. అయితే ప్రతిపాదిత సవరణల ప్రకారం ఇప్పుడు అలాంటి అవకాశం లభించదు. గ్రీన్‌కార్డు పెండింగ్‌లో ఉన్నప్పుడు వీసాను పునరుద్ధరించకుండా చేయడం ఈ ప్రతిపాదన ఉద్దేశం. ఈ కారణంగా అలాంటి వారు అమెరికాను వదిలివెళ్లాల్సి ఉంటుంది.

గత కొన్నేళ్లుగా భారత్‌, చైనా నుంచి పెద్ద ఎత్తున అమెరికా వెళ్తున్న ఉద్యోగులు.. మొదట అక్కడ గ్రీన్‌కార్డ్‌ పొందేందుకు హెచ్‌1-బీ వీసానే ఒక మార్గంగా ఎంచుకుంటున్నారు. అనంతరం అక్కడి పౌరసత్వాన్ని పొందుతున్నారు. ఇప్పుడు హెచ్‌1-బీ నిబంధనల్లో మార్పులు చేస్తే ఇతర దేశస్థుల కంటే భారతీయులే ఎక్కువగా నష్టపోతారని నిపుణులు పేర్కొంటున్నారు.
