kittaya Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 French writer-director Jerome Salle. (Photo by Alexander Koerner/Getty Images) A day after the Telugu-language picture ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ released in movie theaters around the world, French director Jérôme Salle has claimed that after reviewing the film, he's convinced that it is an unauthorized copy of his 2008 film The Heir Apparent: Largo Winch. I have yet to see either film so I can’t personally weigh in, but the loglines for the two films’ stories sound identical. The IMDB page for Largo Winch describes the French picture thusly: “After a powerful billionaire is murdered, his secret adoptive son must race to prove his legitimacy, find his father's killers and stop them from taking over his financial empire.” And the IMDB entry for Agnyaathavaasi describes the Telugu-language film this way: “An exiled heir to a billionaire returns after his father was murdered, as a regular employee to find the killers and make things right in his company.” Quote
