I rejected US, because its the same sh1t as India, just in a shinier bottle. If one had a 'dream', one would have stayed back in India. Only corporate drones in the US, deluded in the hope that their life is settled because they got accepted into the 'greatest country blah blah' would say sh1t like this. In fact, if you have a dream, go to Indonesia, go to Philippines, go to Taiwan, go to South Africa, go to Tunisia, and make your dream come true. what you actually want is a desk job that gives you enough to buy a house, send your kids to school, retire with a decent amount. You can do this in every western country, for the job you do in the US, and by working 20-30% lesser hours. May be if you think beyond yourself then you would understand what dreams are all about. You start off with “I” and that itself says that you do not understand what other people are thinking or going through. Ambani can go to the common man and say that he set up all these businesses so that poor sod should also do it. How achievable is that? For a lot of people in India, USA is an achievable dream. If I wanted better healthcare I would probably try and live elsewhere, but that is not the dream of most people who try to move abroad. USA has the most aggressive, open to business free market economy in the world. That means jobs, a comfortable life and an elevated financial status. I for one don’t believe for one second that Canada has better job opportunities or pay. However, I do know that if my status here in the USA is threatened the first country I would be looking at is Canada. Quote

USA is for mediocre dreams. So I don't understand why 'greatest country' or Canada as the second option have to come into the conversation at all. if you care about money, you are already setting up your life to be mediocre. nothing more. US helps you with that. good for you. but don't go knocking around other countries that consciously put in other systems for their people. Quote
uttermost Posted January 28, 2018 Report Posted January 28, 2018 anyway, I think US can be a somewhat great country, if it cancels job based immigration, and lets in everybody. contrary to what you claim, billions won't be trying to get into US if it does that. That's what white racists like to think. That their paradise is so perfect that others want to desperately get in. It'll simply create a more streamlined immigration, that is not controlled by the US govt, but by the market forces within the country. right now, people who have job visas pretend that they are somehow special. Its a financial mafia, arm twisting people to get in line. you are just on the right side of the mafia. Hope to god you stay on the right side. may be by mocking people who don't care about money, that's what you are trying to do. 1 Quote

Talk about being a paranoid foil muncher. Why don’t you associate the extinction of dinosaurs to the USA while you are at it. So what if it is a mafia? It raises the standard of living and creates wealth for many people. Not many countries can say that. Quote

Not many countries can say that, because they have been in a world war (not fought it from a distance like US did), and have created policies that try to avoid it. US had a civil war, and doubled down on aggressive tactics after that. haha.. being shot by someone with a gun, has less to do with gun laws, than with severe case of deprivation (both mental, and financial). I'm still waiting for you to tell how exactly US dream is better than Canadian dream or European dream. Just because lots of people flock to the US, doesn't mean its better. Its the only place that can absorb these people. so most of them have no choiice. Quote
