KTR sharing a lighter moment with MLA Vinay Bhaskar. “While Rs 1,500 crore would be allocated from the State budget for the development of Warangal in the next five years, the city would also get an additional Rs 500 crore under the ‘Smart City’ scheme initiated by the Centre,” he said, addressing a public meeting on the occasion of the swearing in ceremony of chairman of Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Marri Yadava Reddy at KDC grounds in Hanamkonda. Stating that the foundation for setting up a Textile Park in Geesugonda mandal in the city outskirts will be laid soon by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani, the Minister said 1,200 acres of land had already been acquired for the park. “With the setting up of the Textile Park, locals will get employment. We can also use the cotton grown here since we produce the best quality cotton in the country,” he added. IT Minister KTR waves to the crowd while attending a meeting in Warangal. The Minister said KCR was giving special attention to the development of Warangal city as the people of Warangal stood by him during the Telangana movement. “KUDA would also play an important role in the development of the city,” he said. “KUDA should chart out plans for the development of the city keeping in mind the needs in next 50 years. The ‘master plan’ should be prepared and approved at the earliest,” he said. Quote
