Well, the number seems huge but the reality is that India is one of the toughest countries on earth to get citizenship. Much harder than USA. Refugees are rarely encouraged and migration from other countries is kept at minimum and system encourages no one to get Indian citizenship,. The only way is to get married to Indian national and that too is vetter very seriously. Quote

The only way is to get married to Indian national and that too is vetter very seriously. maybe you are unaware of whats going on in waste bengal......muzlims from Bangladesh have gotten citizenship easily.....though I am not sure if all got passport but other govt ids like aadhar,ration card, voter id are easily procured using which they take the benefit of social scemehes......what else do they need.....
