dont change to H1. 

L1 is far better now. You get L2 EAD. but H4 ead not sure what happens in the near future.

It’s not easy to change from

l1 to h1 . Atleast I heard few rejections recently however I could be wrong and may be it’s just them

You don’t need stamping till you go out of country unless u don’t get i94  with H1b approval .
