Cheppa clear ga emayindo and even he knew I was from out of state but he made up his mind to give me the ticket since he also knew it's tough for me to contest it as I was from out of state and won't be able to make it all the way to CA just for this hearing. Aa phone ni pick chesi GPS mount meeda peddatadamlo it took 2-3 seconds during which the signal apparently turned green, so aa 3 second delay is what he was using to justify giving that ticket. Anyone else in this situation, I am trying to contest this by written declaration(via mail). What are the chances of me winning this case if I contest this via written declaration vs going there to the court in person. sattipandu Posted February 22, 2018 Report Posted February 22, 2018 both of you are right in your own ways anything in your posession inside the car that takes your eyes attention away from road ahead is not permissible and using such device in anyway is ticketable i bet u should be able to contest the ticket in principle as you were not fiddling with any device just trying to pick it up as it fell down. but try to to weigh your options, do u want to contest for 172$ or do u want to vindicated that u were at no fault ?? just be prepared for questions like "could nt you wait to pick up the gps and amount it properly after exiting the street into a by-lane?"
