kukka_bathuku Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 Once H1B approval kicks in, OPT is invalid. Quote
aadhipathi Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 it would be a risk, anyway instead of paying at the end, it is better to pay now. as the rules are becoming strict it is better to run the payroll on H1B Quote
TrumpCare Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 change of status apply chaiyaledha along with H1B? if not he can work on OPT until it expires....change of status apply chesi unte along with H1B ..not eligible to work on OPT if h1b is approved. Quote

phatposts Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 Keep the taxes part aside and figure out what Visa status he is on. This is very key. The biggest benefit for the employee is not having to pay SSN & medicare taxes when working on F1 (OPT in this case). If the H1B approval copy has a start date of February and COS was filed, taxes should align with H1B. Paying less or more tax applies to Federal and State elections but not to SSN & medicare part (AFAIK). Can you explain how he is planning to pay later? Quote

Valla employer tax returns file chesaka IRS ki kattochu annadanta, Vediki job ledhu present so trying to reduce some taxes for now I guess. Quote
