I dont know if they give me an option to choose, but if they ask me, what is best place to settle down?

Lived only in NJ so far and I feel like moving to some place in South where there is no traffic/better quality of life.

Take Cali because once you lose this job, you will have hard time finding another in NC and you may end up doing travel. If you don't want Cali, then you have to move to NC then to another other east state. My advise is to think ahead not just current situation.  Charlotte also has lot of traffic.

FT. 3-5 years same role in job, i think

Go to Cali if you want more work options, and if you want to move up the corporate ladder.

Go to NC if you choose a relatively more laid back life, and aren't too ambitious about your career prospects.

I worked 7 years for a client in small town. Until we have a job, everything seems working in your favor. Once you are out, you know how much disruptive that can be to be in small town.

NC salary is 125K + benefits. How much calif salary should be to have same quality of life. I have family, so not a lot of weekend travel

Cali lo it depends on where you live. If it's in the Bay Area, equivalent would be around 250k

Calif means it's very hard to satisfy your appetite, but you can survive for long.

Not too bad but depends on your visa status and technology.
