Just because it worked for few guys doesnt mean it works for everyone. Like i said, by telling them you have another offer, you appear to be disloyal to them. This is biggest risk. Another risk is you are damaging your relationship with the firm that offered job, if you dont accept the offer. Think holistically. Not just about money. Quote

Do you know any cases where this strategy back fired? When an employee is not happy the total compensation, they will definetely look around. No topic of loyalty. If the mgr/company thinks its worth matching the offer, they will do. Else its employee wish to switch or stay.. 1 Quote

Last 3 yrs Dept has standard offering say $115 k..but recently if they offer less than standard ?? Is it ok to show them as examples ?? Recently new VP is downgrading sal.. Bottom line how to get competitive sal with professional negotiation.. Quote
