Last 3 yrs Dept has standard offering say $115 k..but recently if they offer less than standard ?? Is it ok to show them as examples ?? Recently new VP is downgrading sal.. Bottom line how to get competitive sal with professional negotiation.. valla salary neekela thelusu ani adugutharu...and comparing your self with others who joined before you is not a professional way of negotiation they will say that they are offering as per the market at the time of joining Quote

When an employee is not happy the total compensation, they will definetely look around. No topic of loyalty. If the mgr/company thinks its worth matching the offer, they will do. Else its employee wish to switch or stay.. So, you didn't read the article. It is created based on the facts and interviews from managers. Why no topic of loyalty? Think from manager's stand point. Not from engineer's stand point. Quote

So what do they do. Definitely dont play the game and take the risk you mentioned. There are many other ways to get the hike without risking job. We are talking about salary hike here, not total compensation. There is huge difference between the two. Dont mix both. Quote

I just mentioned a strategy which worked for few friends.. if u think following ur methodology is working for u, just continue following it. No issues.. thats what i am doing too. Quote

So someone has to tell the risks involved. Thats exactly what i did. If there are any risks with what i said, you are welcome to post those. Quote
